June 22

I know it's lame that I haven't got around to posting anything on this, but Carol and I got married on June 22. There was no "special reason" to "force" the issue, if you get my drift... it just seemed like the right time (after 15 years!)

    That's great news!
Tell me you didn't elope and that you let your parents get there in time to see it.

I guess "elope" is the way to describe it. We just went down to the court and got a license, and then a couple weeks later we went over to a court-sanctioned lawyer down the street from where we live (her last name was actually Carpenter).

Congratulations, Russell -- that's terrific! I've never met Carol, but I've heard nothing but wonderful things about her. I wish you both the absolute best.

    Meredith,

I'm pretty sure you have met Carol; we all went tubing once, back in around 1992 or 1993, and I thought you were there.

You're right, Russell -- I was indeed on that tubing trip. I obviously had forgotten that Carol was as well. That trip is a bit fuzzy in my feeble old mind. The clearest memory I have is of someone jumping up and down on someone else's bumper while we waited in horrendous traffic, until said bumper snapped off.

Well, congratulations again. You've chosen wisely. :-)

For the record that was NOT Carol, said person was jumping on her own bumper, and later admitted to one or more of us that she was seriously stoned at the time. I won't reveal her name here, but she lives in your general vicinity now, and is not a member of this blog.
