Good Book
I just finished reading The True Story of Hansel and Gretel, a novel of war and survival by Louise Murphy. Set in Poland during WWII. Very well written. I recommend it. Anybody else checking the blog site and reading?

Hey Julia -
I check in from time to time. Anyone else?
Great pics of the kids. How long are you going to be posted in Germany? For some reason I thought you'd be back by now.

We'll be here until the Summer of '09. We're going to ask for an extension, but Patrick is pretty certain we won't get it. Still, it doesn't hurt to try!

Reading: all the time!
Checking the blog: hardly thought of it lately!!
I would say that the book which has stuck with me the most over the last year is "I am a Strange Loop" by Doug Hoftstatder (of Goder Escher Bach fame). If the title isn't enough to lure you in, just get a thickish stack of envelopes, and grasp them across the middle, holding them about where the four folds come together. Do you feel the marble inside?
